Meet The Zing Team
Jane Hill – CEO
I have worked in the travel and events industry for many years and have gained the experience and knowledge to lead my staff in a professional, fresh and approachable manner. My desire to change Zing into a NOT FOR PROFIT company came true on the 1st April 2015 after many years of hard work. My motto is still ‘Enthusiasm rubs off with enthusiasm’. The scientific community has been very good to me over the years and now I can give something back to them.
My ambition is to make a difference to the vital and pioneering research we see at our conferences and work together with individual communities in science and extend the rewards for their development.
I have a few hobbies, when I have the time! But none more so than my children and grandchildren
Stewart Whitehill – AV Technician & Programmer
I previously worked abroad in the hospitality industry before returning to the UK and moving into live events, music production and audio engineering prior to starting at Zing where I am the AV Technician and Programmer for our conferences.
While in the UK I work on sourcing and viewing prospective venues for future conferences, content management of the Zing website, coordinating with the chairs on the conference programme, as well as lending a hand around the office with all things tech related or involving confusing masses of cables and connectors.
In my spare time i enjoy scuba diving, playing and composing music, computer gaming, despairing at my football team and socialising.
Matthew Kirkby – Sponsorship and Marketing Coordinator
Prior to joining the Zing team, I have worked in a facilities department for a scientific R+D company, as well as a clerical marker of maths exams for Cambridge Assessment.
Here at Zing I deal with sponsorship opportunities and marketing duties. I am finding my role here very motivating, and the Zing team are great to work with.
Outside of work I play 5-a-side football twice a week and enjoy playing poker regularly.
Adrian Woolf – Senior Finance & Conference Coordinator
Prior to joining the Zing team I worked as a manager in manufacturing environments predominately within the food sector. Here at Zing I am the senior finance & conference coordinator which involves dealing with day to day financial matters and general enquiries from people across the globe.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening, walking, DIY, travel and watching films.
Chloe Lyons – Conference and Office Supervisor
Prior to joining Zing, I went to University in Bristol, graduating in 2012 with a First class degree in Forensic Biology.
Here at Zing, I am responsible for researching new scientific topics to hold conferences on as well as being the main contact for the chairs and speakers. I also train up new staff, balance the stock and supervise on site at conferences and in the office.
Outside of work, I am staff at Ramsey Air Cadets where I am responsible for media, PR and events coordination. When I can actually find spare time nothing makes me happier than drinking tea and watching bad TV, usually in a giraffe onesie!
