Here at Zing we take gender equality seriously and are concerned that across all disciplines, men are far more likely to participate in conferences than women. This is in general an unintended bias. To encourage fair development and progression in the scientific field, we have included an addition to our chair contract. This requests positive action from the chairs and co-chairs to balance the gender of the speakers.
From our point of view, we encourage both sexes to submit abstracts for their chosen conference. In addition to gender balance, this of course will also be viewed on expertise and passed to chairs for consideration with no bias. It is also a policy of Zing Conferences to send marketing emails without bias, to achieve a balance of equal female and male representation.
