The Heart Valve-Related Disorders Conference will cover valvular heart diseases topics ranging from bench to bedside. The conference aim is to share knowledge, communicate accomplishments and generate novel opinion while shining a light on recent innovations and developments in valvular and structural heart disease interventions. This interdisciplinary conference will combine clinical decision making with medical, surgical, interventional, tissue engineering and genetics with other interdisciplinary scientists for patient care and take into account the fact that steadily changing management tools can impact surgical teams. Sessions for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physicians, nurses, interns, biotechnologists, tissue engineers and healthcare professionals have been designed to help specialists manage their unique challenges from a team perspective.

Provisional session titles for the conference are

  • Cellular, Stem cell & Advanced Gene therapeutics
  • Molecular basis of epigenetics
  • Nano therapy
  • Bioengineering therapeutics (Tissue Engineered valves)
  • Clinical trials and research in cell and gene therapies
  • Regulatory and ethical issues of therapies
  • Life style and heart valve disorders
  • New surgical skills, innovations and new device implantation
  • Clinical genetics aspect of heart valve disorders
  • Epidemiology
  • Valve replacement- Past & future

We hope you will be interested in this programme and join us in the beautiful and scientific environment of Cambridge. Students are more than welcome and encouraged to actively interact with established scientists.

Zing Conferences CIC is an organisation which is contracting Clare College for the use of facilities, but which otherwise has no connection or association with Clare College or the University of Cambridge.

23rd – 26th July 2016

The city of Cambridge is a university city and the county town of Cambridgeshire, England which lies in East Anglia, on the River Cam, about 50 miles (80 km) north of London. Situated just 42miles from Luton Airport, 31 miles from Stansted Airport and 74 miles from Heathrow Airport.
Today, Cambridge is at the heart of the high-technology centre known as Silicon Fen and is home to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, one of the largest biomedical research clusters in the world.
Founded in 1326 Clare College is the second oldest College in the University and resides in beautiful, riverside grounds and the beautiful Fellows Gardens to visit, spanning both sides of the River Cam running between the Old Schools (the administrative centre of the University) and the University Library.
The award winning conference room of the Gillespie Centre opened in January 2009. The light, airy design and flexible meeting rooms offer all the ingredients to host a memorable conference. The Centre, built to the highest standards of sustainability, uses solar thermal panels and a ground source heat pump for efficient heating and cooling.
All the on-site bedrooms are equipped with wired internet access, while the restaurants offer a wide variety of fresh, local produce with selections to tempt even the most refined palette.
We are sure you will agree, Clare College shall provide a magnificent setting for what will be a stimulating, enlightening and thought-provoking conference.

Local Climate

weather-300x151

The United Kingdom is famous for its unpredictable weather, yet Cambridge and the surrounding areas benefit from some of the warmest and driest conditions in the country.

During the conference dates, Cambridge is usually bright and sunny with temperatures between 18° – 25° and a moderate risk of showers. We would recommend using the BBC forecast link to view the expected weather.
