Synopsis This conference will consider the fate of nanomaterials (nanoparticles, nanostructured materials) in biological systems, opportunities for medical applications as well as their potential for harm through eg toxicological responses. We will be concerned with the fate of NPs in systems such as blood, the formation of corona and the entry of the NP complex in to the cell and cellular structures.

Speakers will discuss the state of the art in the physics, chemistry and engineering of nanomaterial interactions with biological systems using experiment and theory/modelling. Sessions will cover topics such as the fate of nanoparticles in cells, the use of nanomaterials for drug delivery and implants, nanotoxicology, the interaction of proteins and lipids with nanomaterials and models of cell membranes and cell processes.
